Going to Duke!

Next week! Thanks to Owen's mommy! I'm so glad we can do this. I know there's no proof that the cord blood helps but even if there is the slightest chance it will help I'm all for it. I just hope our insurance covers it...

  1. awesome!! I have been praying for you guys and will continue to. I do not blame you at all for trying anything you can, I would do exactly the same thing. Can't hurt now can it?. And if insurance doesn't cover it...and it helps, so be it. I know easier said than done but that's a chance we take as parents. I hope and pray it works, insurance covers it, and everything goes well for you guys. Please keep us updated once you get there.

  2. Hi! My daughter Elisabeth was born with congenital hydrocephalus in September of 2007 and we took her to Duke for her infusion in November of that year. We will never regret the choice to do it :) In fact, they still have a batch of her cells and we are planning on taking her back to Duke sometime in the next few years to get the rest infused. Good luck in your travels :)

I'll make sure to check back and see how everything went!

  3. We took Cayman to Duke for the stem cell infusion. What an amazing feeling it is when those cells are inside and circulating.
